Sorry it is a bad image, I need a new camera.
I went looking through my books and found this similar Leave quilt, it was made by Margaret ( surname unknown) in c1938
Chatham, Ontario.
The book is called Ontario's Heritage Quilts by Marilyn I. Walker.
Oh there are some beautiful quilts to look at in this book, I love my books.
cheers
Christine
No Christine, see my comment under the Leaves quilt, last week. The one I based mine on is from the Denver Museum book, it had yellow sashings. I think there must have been lots of versions of it. Reading the text from the book, several companies put out their versions in the 1930's.
ReplyDeleteI can scan it, but is that legal? Cheers, Kim McL
A similar pattern was published in the January/February 1995 Quiltmaker Magazine. It was a reproduction of one made in the 1930's in Bonnie Leman's collection. (I cannot believe I knew where this was in the file cabinet!)
ReplyDeleteChritine, I should have read your post carefully! Sorry about that, I thought you were asking if that was the book the original quilt was in - this is what happens when I try to do two things at once. I was meant to be doing my day job and sneaking looks into the blog at the same time!! Now I've managed to do this blogging, it is getting to be a bit of a problem - although a nice one.
ReplyDeleteThere must be lots of people who love this quilt!
Cheers, Kim
