Roseville Album

Thank you to Pam for allowing me to join this blog!
I have been admiring all of your work for a few weeks now and have finally ordered the Roseville Album quilt pattern; I was tempted to order the kit as well from the website but the bright fabrics are not really me; with the help of the owner of my LQS (thanks Evy!) I chose a lovely japanese ivory fabric with etched white flowers and leaves for the background and a few FQ's of civil war fabrics in shades of pink, brown, blue and yellow-green, I then spent several hours this afternoon digging out all my scraps changing my mind and the colours several times, before I settled on a muted palette of yellows through oranges to Red with an accent of blue, now if only the pattern would hurry up and arrive I could get started!
Looking forward to making this quilt with you all

  2. Lovely fabrics, it's true bright and flashy isn't for everyone. I am stepping out of my comfort zone with the Roseville quilt and enjoying every stitch. I'm sure when I finish I'll probably go back to my usual red, white, and blue motif but it will be fun while it lasts.

  6. A lovely group of fabrics! I look forward to seeing your blocks. (I like both brights and repro's--in fact, most fabrics--which is a problem for me!!) I love seeing how different fabrics change the look of the blocks, so this is going to be fun. My pattern came pretty quickly--here's hoping yours does too!

  7. I love the palette you've chosen. I really debated whether to do this quilt in repros or brights, but in the end went for the brights. It's going to be great fun seeing your quilt come along. Who knows..maybe I'll do a second version? ;)
Gee, that's sounds pretty ambitious for someone that hasn't started yet? LOL
I hope your pattern arrives quickly.

  8. It was really never an issue with me about using KF fabrics for Roseville, but I love the repros too and look forward to seeing Roseville in your lovely fabrics. Alas, I have set aside the Civil War Bride's quilt. Originally I had thought I could alternate blocks, but what was I thinking? The CW repros will be antiques before I get that quilt done!

  12. Looks as though you have a nice collection to work from. Look forward to seeing the background that you chose.

I was amazed at the speed I received my pattern. It seemed as though it was packaged with the background fab as soon as I sent the email and they ran it to the post office as fast as they could.
