Second Block

I completed a second block for the RA. I wish I had better vision for fussy cutting. I seem to agonize over fabric selection and am not always satisfied with the result, but it is what it is.
I have a pile of clam shells printed and am thinking of using them for a border for the Lollys. I had started to piece them for another project, but may use them here instead.

  2. The clamshells are great. It is a mystery to me how these really busy fabrics can looks so good put side by side without any place for the eye to rest, but they do!

  9. To Janine,

The Lollypop Tree is pretty easy I think or the Flower Basket medallion is not hard either. The Flower Basket Medallion has a lot of leaves that need to be connected together to form circles and there aren't many curves. So what you do here is sew the leaves in sequence, that way you know they will connect.
The Lollypop has a lot of big pieces that sew up pretty fast. Let me know if you need help. Cheers, Kim McL

  10. Lovely block--your center is like a diamond! Your the clamshells are wonderful--i've never had the courage to work on them. And, nosy me, I can't help but wonder about the lovely blue quilt that is off to the side in both your photos--what I can see looks stunning!
