Oh My!

My second block all laid out. Oh my there are many, many little flowers to applique on those spikey pieces, 27 to be exact! I am trying to sew a little every day, even if it is only for 15 minutes.

I like how the two blocks look together. I think photographing them helps you see if some fabrics are a little off.

  1. I love your favorite choices, I am hoping that I picked out some of the same. Placing my order this morning, can't wait to get them.

  2. Your second block looks so pretty with your first! Don't count how many pieces there are until AFTER you sew them. ;) LOL

  3. I agree fotography helps a lot with seeing where one could do better, or if the overall is oke. I use my camera a lot for my quiltmaking, especcially nowadays with those digital boxes you see it right away instaid of having to develop your film before seeing the results like 'in the old days'

  7. Kelly, your blocks are looking BEAUTIFUL!!! Using a camera is such a helpful tool. I especially like how the blues you have used "pop" just enough. Good choice!!! ; ) Smart of you to employ photography to aid in your fabric and color selections.

And, I do NOT count!!! Otherwise, I would NOT sew!!! The numbers are daunting. I just draw my designs, cut out my sharps and sew. My husband counts, and I ask him to not tell me!!! enjoy the stitches you make.

  9. Looking great Kelly, I found those little flowers a bit pesky to do too, but they look cute when they're done, so keep it up - not too many more to go. The rest of the quilt is pretty straight forward. Love the colours of the cactus.Kim McL
