This block took me a long time to finish but I am happy with the results. I did not enjoy all the small flowers and don't think my stitches look as good as they should. I do like my polka dots and will be using them throughout the quilt. Overall my quilt will have a lot of red/pink because I tend to like stronger colors.

No wonder it took you a long time--it's gorgeous! I love your vase and the polka dot trim-brilliant. Will you use those dots in every block? It's one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteYour colors work so well-I especially love that purple in the center. Well done!
Love your block and like how you used your poka dots. I'm working on this one as I saved it for last because it has so many little pieces. I always put poka dots in each block plus some orange and yellow to give it some punch. Keep going, you are doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteYour block looks great--congrats on finishing! I started this block too--going very slowly. I try to do a little flower each time I can sew, but that means it will be forever as there are so many as you know. (I think I have the same blue polka dots on mine too.) Your little pink birds are cute--look spunky as they hover there.
ReplyDeleteKelly, your choice of fabrics is wonderful! You did a beautiful job on this block! I traced the pattern pieces the other day and It is much more detailed than it looks!!
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic, love the colours.
ReplyDeleteI love your colors, so bright and cheery. You did a beautiful job on your block not only with the colors but with the applique. Love those little flowers.
ReplyDeleteYour block is gorgeous Kelly! Those little stems and flowers are a little fiddly, but you did a great job. I really like the fabrics you've used..especially those polka dots. They really add a lot of sparkle. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to agree about your fabric choices and use of polka dots - FABULOUS!!! ; )
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric in your Vase..Gorgeous Block.

Kelly, how divine!! Just love it. This block took me awhile too. In the middle of sewing this block, I thought I was crazy to draw it!! Kim McL
