Fabrics chosen

As I am only starting in 2011, January, nothing is sure. But one thing is: I am doing this wonderful quilt on black. I love the way colours 'pop' on black. Here is a picture of the fabrics I am going to work with. I might add something, I might skip something, but probably this is it!

  6. Mimi, I think I'm going to work with freezer paper on the fabrics and then compose the pattern on the black fabric. I suppose I know the measure of each individual block.

  7. Fabulous choices, Joke! Are you going to stitch up Kim's Roseville Album design? I too am using a black background. I haven't had any trouble seeing on the black. And, I use an overlay for pattern piece placement. I can't wait to see more!

  12. I'll be interested to see these! (Mine is The Garden on the white on black dots - I love black as a background!) The Garden really doesn't need a lot of fussy placement. I usually just iron my block into 4th's, and use that as a guide to setting the pieces. Sometimes I baste those creases if I'm going to handle the block a lot (I am machine appliqueing. One thing I love about this quilt is that it isn't really fussy about placement since it has a folksy feel.
