One border to go

I've been away for a few weeks holiday and did find some time to stitch all the colorful bits onto the third border for Stars and Sprigs. Once home, I wasted no time in making another couple of stars and getting it all attached. A glorious moment for sure but I do have to say that my photos aren't too good with it being a grey day here.
I'm pretty sure I can get the top all done before Christmas and then start thinking about the quilting stage.
Great news too, I'm looking forward to Kim's class for the Flower Garden quilt in February. How exciting!!
I noticed awhile back that someone was wondering how we can link individual's posts together so we can see progress. I thought that was a great idea so I went back on all my posts and clicked on edit then added my name to the lables for post options. Now if you click on my name at the bottom of each post, they all come up grouped together. It's the only way I could come up with but it works.

  2. What a smashing achievement, Janet! Kim designs such wonderful borders, doesn't she? And it must be such fun to choose fabric for all those leaves. Do you have any tips for doing applique on such a long length of fabric? How did you handle it all?

  3. In regard to viewing posts together - I subscribe to this blog, and each post arrives in it's own folder in my Outlook inbox. I just need to click view>from (instead of date)et voila!!
PS I am living vicariously as I have not attempted any of these quilts, but by golly I admire them all. Hope this tip is useful

  4. Gorgeous! Amazing! I looked at the fabrics close up for a long time--your stars have unusual fabric combinations that work together perfectly.
Great idea about the labels--I would love to see everyone's posts linked in this way. Amanda's idea is also good, but that would only help going forward, right?

  5. Just gorgeous, Janet! And I have a new appreciation having just started my own Stars and Sprigs. I, too, Leland, spent a long while looking at the fabrics close up and agree that the stars are so effective. I especially liked the effect of the ones with paler points which gave them a ghost-layer feel. Thank you, Janet, for relabeling your posts with your name. That's a great idea to be able to bring up one person's progress and a simpler way to relieve Pam of trying to figure out some other method. I don't use Outlook so I can't try Amanda's tip.

Glad you're going to be at the workshop in February - look forward to it. I think there are going to be quite a few us there. Are you going to quilt this on your machine now that you've perfected the machine quilting? Kim McL
