Where to start?

I've found a background fabric and I'm ready to get started. I want to try Liza's front basting method and I want to start with an easy block. I'm going to be doing Kim's Roseville Album; which block would be the best one? Mind you, I'm kinda chicken here. ;)

  1. I started with a side panel thinking that once I got the most time consuming parts of the quilt top together it would seem like it was coming together fast with the smaller blocks. However, it's taking a long time to finish the panel and I am in need of a little instant gradification....... Maybe the fruit bowl would be a better one to start with.

  3. Eileen,
I started with the center block. It had no stems Plus it would make a good wallhanging if I didn't do any more blocks...I'm have so much fun with them, I know I will finish some day.
    What is your background?
    Just enjoy the journey!

  4. I would start with a corner block, any one of them, only because the center is the first place we look. So put that chicken in the oven get a block started while it bakes. You. Can. Do. It.

  5. It's a fun quilt to do...I'd say the easiest block is the one with the fruit bowl in the center? We're cheering you on..and look forward to seeing your block. :)

  6. I'm going to vote for the fruit bowl too. Not only is it easier, it's the center, so you can work out from there and not duplicate colors/fabrics, etc. The block to the left of it is pretty easy too... Whichever one you choose, it'll be fun!
