A finished block!

This block went relatively quick. I failed to sew in the 1/4 inch stems and didn't realize it till I was about finished. So I used 2 strands of cotton perl thread in a green. Using a stem stitch I created all the stems in about 1 1/2 hours. While stitching this block I keep trying to finish up a large panel. It's down to mostly circles and all the small shapes.
I'm so enjoying this quilt. I'm even making it my own with "my" changes.
Before I finished this block I started preparing another. Can't have any down time. Have to have something to stitch when I sit on the couch. Busy hands make me happy.

  1. Hi Frog Quilter,
Busy hands don't only make you happy. That's why I love the combination of applique and movie/tv watching. I love the blue fabric you chose for the bottom of the flowers. Great choice.

  2. Lovely colors--they look great together! I am the same way with needing to keep my hands busy, though you'd think I'd get something more accomplished!

  4. I love how the black adds a big punch to the block, your using wonderful colours. I can't sit still without something in my hands either, I'd have to be sick or very tired.

  5. Love all your fussy cutting, the small flowers are just soo gorgeous. The vase in black looks good! I don't think I could sit down without doing something in my hands either. Kim McL

  8. Your block is beautiful! Very clever of you to embroider the stems. I missed the center one when I did my block and had to go back and add it.
Add me to the list of those that MUST have some hand work to do in the evenings! :)

  9. I have to be doing something but lately it's been maneuvering my computer mouse. :(
Your block is simply mahvelous, my dear. :) Love the embroidered stems. Since you did this for one block are you going to continue it?

  10. Just beautiful!!! I LOVE those little Plink flowers!!! Such EXCELLENT use of fabric. ; ) I also REALLY like your balance of light and dark - the dark urn and those aqua leaves with the use of plink/pink - perfect!

  11. It is wonderful that you made the block your own. Love your fabric choices, it always amazes me how many different fabrics we all have. Every time I see someone's block, I think I would not mind a yard or two of that
