one a day

I've done one block each evening and this is where I'm at so far with the Flower Garden pattern.
The background fabric is chalk spots and the colour is most true in the middle block below.
There's a bit of reverse applique but as Kim said to us in class, you could also sew those parts on the top.

  4. Wow Janet, the blocks are looking awesome!! That was quick, getting all those done in a week. That yellow calyx is great fussy cutting, reminds me of lips or is this just me?. Going at this rate you should be finished soon .. Kim McL

  5. The fabrics are wonderful, of course, but there is something about your stitching and the quality of the applique work that blows me away! Wow. I am very impressed by these blocks. The technical skill you have and the extra effort you put in really makes special. Beautiful!

  6. This project looks like so much fun, Janet. Like Kim, I'm seeing a "corn eater" smile on that yellow calyx. I love the background fabric choice. Hmmm, maybe need to order more of that.

  13. Really lovely Janet! I like your background--do you have a particular color palette in mind to use for the flowers, or are you just seeing where your selections take you?
