Testing, testing...

I have been making circles.  Did I tell you, I've been making circles?  Yep, circles!  I knew you'd understand...

This is a test.  There has been no sewing of said circles just yet.  I only placed them this morning.  The Squirrel panel is on my design wall.  I will look at it for a few days before I commit to these circles.  What do you think...  Opinions and suggestions welcome!  ; )
Keep safe everyone!  We are united by threads and have spun a community that cares for one another.  Take a few stitches when you can and be soothed by them.

Piecefully, Pam

  1. I LOVE your circles, Pam. Of course I thought the panel was terrific even before you added them, but now the birds have something to nibble. The circles make this quilt say "Kim McLean."

  3. Absolutely beautiful! if it were me...and I admit right here I am not at this level...I would put one more circle in the upper right corner between the big bird and the top little one...this of course is some one who would just like a paper copy of this panel to frame! lol

  4. VERY pretty Pam! I think you have a nice balance of color..except in one spot it grabbed my eye. How would it look if you swapped the green circle under the nest with the sort of greyish/spotted one that's under the bird on the left? In the photo the lights sort of catch my eye more in that left side area.(they may look very different in person?)
I adore the fabrics you've chosen and your panel is absolutely drool worthy! :)

  8. Ann,
Your panel is wonderful, how many circle did you make? lol. I think that when I get to this panel I'll just follow the pattern. Because as a Libra I have a really hard time chosing something. I would always find another spot where maybe 1 more circle could fit and end up having the whole background chock full of circle!
    Great job by the way!
greetings from a windy Holland, my thoughts are with my sewing sisters in Queensland. Take care!

  10. Beautiful panel. I agree with Ann Champion - that green one stops the eye. Even though it looks great, you should consider switching out all the solid circles for prints... you've got a lot of room for color with that dramatic black background. Love your stitching on this!

  11. Your panel looks great--they are lovely circles! I find deciding on circles (color and placement) really difficult, so I will defer to people who can make up their minds! And, not that it matters, but on Kim's actual quilt, there is a circle that is not shown on the pattern. It is in the mouth of the little bird that is between the two birds at the top (just below the one holding the worm), so there's a circle you may want to add if you are adding circles.
