READY TO QUILT

OK, this will be my last post of this quilt, but I would love some feedback before I finish. What ideas do you have about quilting this spring quilt? Also do you like the border of black with dots?

I have enjoyed this process and learning so much from you all. I am anxious to begin my next appliqued/pieced quilt. Thank you for sharing you creations with me, and inspiring me to expand what I know.

with gratitude,

Pete

  1. I love bright colors and the dots complement all of them in the piece. I would keep the quilting simple, maybe echo all of the shapes by a 1/4 of an inch.

  3. Spectacular! What a beautiful, joyful quilt. For the quilting..something swirly in the light background came to mind first.

  4. Your quilt is wonderful! I love the polka dots! I see leaves and air moving around in the background of the tree for quilting!

  5. great quilt, it looks small, is it? if it's that small maybe echo quilting or something that just outlines the flowers, it's too pretty to take away from, unless you do really COLORFULL stuff so it's a design on it's own.

  6. Hello - I read this blog all the time - mostly just to gaze at the spectacular work and think - 'I'll never do that'. I saw your piece and it just stopped me in my tracks - I looked at it and thought - 'I want to do that'! Is this a pattern you designed? It is stunning! I can't think of a more appropriate word. And the colors and fabrics - spectacular! Thanks for sharing.....piece.

  11. Thank you all for you all for your encouragement, comments and ideas. You are a great forum for so many quilters. I have been practicing my free motion motifs and almost ready to start. For those wondering, the pattern I used was an enlarged Jane Sassaman pattern, enlarged to 36x36. SO my next project?? Garden or Stars and sprigs, and thoughts for me?????
    With gratitude,
    Pete
