Flower Pots top finished
At last my finished Flower Pots quilt top. The picture quality isn't the best cause it is just too big for my design wall but it is finished and I love it. A big thank you too everyone who has commented and posted on this blog. Everyone's work is so inspiring. And thanks especially to Kim, who not only created these beautiful patterns but who continues to give advice and comment on our work. It is thrilling to me to know that she is looking at my work! Hope to get this quilted soon ... now what is next Roseville Album or Flower Garden or maybe another, I can't wait to start. Oh and any suggestions for how to quilt this? I am thinking of outlining the applique and then a small filler for the background and nothing in the sashing. Any thoughts?
Congratulations on such a wonderful accomplishment. Your colour choices are lovely. Now the next big step, the quilting! Then many years for you to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is absolutely beautiful, congratulations on finishing it. I am not sure which one to make next either as there are so many beautiful ones to pick from

ReplyDeleteJust absolutely gorgeous!! Congratulations on a work well done, just love it. Re Qulting, is this a hand quilting one? I get mine done by machine quilting, commercially done. My brain stops when the top is done, I consider my bit is finished.
ReplyDeleteI love looking at what everyone is doing, I try to check the blog everyday, except when I can't get internet access away from my desk. Kim McL

Truly a work of art and a wonderful accomplishment! Congratulations! I know it's a tremendous effort. And kudos to Kim McLean for designing such a beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteYour Flower Pots is absolutely stunning! I love the fussy cuts, and the color palette you've used is bright and cheerful. I like your plan for the quilting too! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Flower Pots is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have finished my Roseville top and started Flower Garden a few weeks ago.
I machine quilt mine myself and like to add veins on the leaves and feather lines on the birds. Adding quilting on the flowers and pots really adds to the look of your quilt.
I love this! It's really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Denise - do add quilting on everything, including the sashing. It also helps hold the quilt together so seams won't pop and you'll have it forever.
Hello LuAnn,
