Not a good photo, but these are the right and left side panels unpressed.
Thanks for the info re: trimming them to size. I have two borders left to stitch. I had started working on the border after completing the center squares rather than leaving all of them to the end.
I adore the panels!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Day!!!!!!!!! what an accomplishment....huge congrats on this
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric choices. What a great feeling to have so much done.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer, One more question, did you use the back basting method of applique on the coral trees? I am working on my 1st block and I am
ReplyDeletealready worrying about those coral trees!!!
Kim here, you seem to be a bit worried about those coral trees, I cut the seam allowance to about 1/8" or just over, then sweep it in with your needle, try the eye end of the needle. Don't fiddle too much or they'll be frayed. I think I covered this in the tutorial under the Pandemonium quilt, the link is above, on top of the panel, if you would like to check. I also baste the applique piece onto the background with a running stitch rather close to the sewing line, this seems to stabilize it. Let me know if you are still having problems, K
DeleteMary, they're gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Mary!! Love your panels, a good idea to do the panels whilst doing the centre blocks. The ccolours are popping out. Look forward to seeing the whole quilt, cheers, Kim
