Help
Hi everyone, I am almost through with the last long panel block, about to start my outside border on the Roseville Album. I need suggestions on how to quilt this large quilt. Any suggestion will be appreciated! thanks Paula
Good for you, Paula, for being so close to finishing the top! I am not far along enough to offer anything but I look forward to hearing what others have to suggest that could be helpful to all of us.
Although I have not made this quilt I have like Kim suggested done echo quilting and then when I got tired of that cross hatched from my last echo line and it looks wonderful.
How exciting to get to that stage Paula. I think once you start outlining, an idea will come to you. I suggest simple because the applique fills the blocks so much. If cross hatch seems to be too much stitching, how about in the center section, each block could be quilted with diagonal lines. The first could be from top left to bottom right, the one next to it could be opposite, top right to bottom left. It would work because there are an odd number of blocks. It would halve the background quilting as opposed to cross hatch. Echo quilting would be great too since it can be done by eye.

ReplyDeleteHow about doing outline quilting, then do echo quilting like the Hawaiian quilts? Anyone, other suggestions? Kim
