This blog is dedicated to applique. Glorious applique!!! The focus here will be hand applique, but there is room for machine applique too. Kim McLean is the designer whose patterns and quilts we will be working on together. Are you ready?! Let's SEW!!!
My RA top which I now call Wichita Album is finished
Wow, almost two years in the making. Today I am sandwiching the top. Just finished the last stitch of applique......I love this quilt.....I am so excited.
I love large quilts and this one is amazing. You should be proud of yourself. Thank you for sharing it with us..... it always helps motivate me to get back to it when I see finished tops.
Congrats on getting it done, it is so beautiful. I also hand quilted mine and enjoyed every minute of it. Yes, there are a few of us that still hand quilt!
Thanks everyone, and yes Kim, hand quilting is hard to find. Congrats to Julee for hand quilting heres. To me some things are just a "must" to handquilt and this is one of them. I started last night and got about 1/2 a square done. I travel (with my job, starting in January) so not sure how long the quilting will take. If I can put my OCD down for awhile I hope to get it done before June of next year.
Bravo, Paula! You inspire me to finish mine. I agree that this one cries out for hand quilting, so good for you for taking that on, however long it takes.
Wow! It's beautiful and the colours you've used are perfect. I could stare all day long :) Congratulations on having the vision and staying power for two years of making!!
I cannot go by this post and not comment - your quilt is absolutely stunning. One of the most beautiful pieces of fabric art that I have ever seen. I know I'm late with my congratulations, but I'm so glad I stumbled into your blog from Sew Many Ways - you are an inspiration!
