This blog is dedicated to applique. Glorious applique!!! The focus here will be hand applique, but there is room for machine applique too. Kim McLean is the designer whose patterns and quilts we will be working on together. Are you ready?! Let's SEW!!!
Here are the first 6 Lollys that I did. The sashing is temporary. I sewed these blocks together so I could travel with the semi-top to do show and tell.
Yours is so beautiful!!! I just started appliqueing and I have found how to do it by Back Basting. Its coming along good but I want to know does it get better as you applique.I am very slow with it but doing pretty good.
These are totally yummy! You have made me want to go back to applique again (I made Blue Collection all needle-turned and have been fasting from applique ever since!)
The sashing is stunning Liza, I adore Kaffe's dots and they look fabulous here. Can we see a pic of your friends bronze gold background sometime, sounds lovely.
I've loved this quilt since I saw the antique one in a book years ago. Your version of Kim's pattern is absolutely fabulous! The colors just pop off that background.

It really does pack a punch, I love it and I love the big pieces in this pattern, they're so easy to do.
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes!! The design looks awesome with the dark background - utterly fab!

ReplyDeleteI really like the dark background much better than the light background. I was thinking of making this in a red and green fashion
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous with that sashing! :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my friends is doing it with a dull bronze gold background. It is spectacular.
