Ann's Block #5

I just finished block #5 last night.

I'm not sure I like the 2 pieces in the middle..but I'm leaving them for now. I can always change them later if I want to? ;)

  5. The block is wonderful, Ann! Is it the choice of the brown fabric you're not sure about? Because I think that balances the color choices really well. I like it! And I agree that the vase is spectacular.

  10. Thank you all for your encouragement.
The fabric with the roses is Phillip Jacob's Floral Burst-red. It took a half yard cut to get two full roses. I had another fabric that was about 1/2" shy of letting me get a rose that was a little bit darker.

  14. Ann, you're a marvel, the roses look fantastic!!And love the vase fabric, when I was doing my quilt, my daughter asked me why I've drawn an alien spaceship for a vase! Actually there is a vase in an 1800's Baltimore quilt that is the inspiration for it! The original looks a lot more " refined"! Kim McL
