Somehow the block seems a bit busy to me--perhaps the apple or the pineapple should have been plainer with the bowl print. But I'm leaving it as is, following the principle that it's better to finish than to be totally happy, and knowing I can swap things later. (Of course, I also know that change is a slippery slope--as soon as you change one fabric, the others will start to need adjusting, so I'm not going there.) Hopefully as I finish more blocks they'll all blend together. Now on to the next one....
It looks great to me Donna...I love your fabric choices. I know what you mean about 'busy' blocks and I too am hoping that the blend overall will make up for it.

ReplyDeleteWhat a BEAUTIFUL block, Donna!!! Don't change a thing! Once the quilt goes together nothing will seem too busy or overpowering. Don't you think Kim's designs are so/sew full of life?! Then, coupled with Kaffe fabrics those same dynamic designs become full of energy too?! Beautiful! Fun! Inspiring! And, perhaps a bit different than what we're accustomed to stitching up...?! ; )

I would not change anything about your block, your fabric choices are wonderful, your block is very colorful and happy. It really helps me when somebody posts single pictures of their block up close because it is so much fun and interesting to see everyone's fabric choices.
