It's been awhile since I've posted about my blocks but now I have finally finished the journey on the lollipop quilt top! It's now on the quilting frame. This year I'm focusing on trying to finish UFO projects. I have 30 projects listed....count down is this is the third one finished. Only 27 more to go.....and maybe a couple of new ones to pop up?! :)
Thanks for letting me share this journey!

Congratulations! This is wonderful. I love what you've done with the border. Just perfect.
ReplyDeleteStunning. Congratulations on completing your beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Mona! I've always loved this quilt. Are you tired of circles yet? Did you use the heat resistant plastic circles, washers, or some other method? They look perfect!
ReplyDeleteOn previous quilts, I've appliqued grapes and cherries. Those are not too fun, but appliqueing larger circles are not that bad! I actually like sewing those better. My usual method is needleturn, though on ocassion I've used the freezer paper method. A lot depends on the shape of applique. I find needleturn is faster but if you do wool applique, that's even faster!
DeleteMain thing is have fun when you applique!

ReplyDeleteMona! It is so striking! I especially love how you framed it with the border fabric. How long ago did you start it?
ReplyDeleteThe first blocks were started in 2011 and the last of the nine blocks were finished in 2012. They were put into my UFO container and taken out last month because I finally decided on how to design and sew the border. It's now being quilted!
