Liza at Quilt Market

I've been having my own small pity party because I didn't go to Quilt Market & Festival in Houston this past week. I did come across this cute video of Liza working one of Kim's blocks using her 'front basting' technique.

Haven't had much time for stitching but still hope to get my 4th Roseville block finished in November.

  8. Thank you very much Gay for sharing this video, it is much clearer when you actually see someone doing the technique. I'll have to try it this way, not the way I thought it was supposed to be!
Lovely to see Liza in action, one day I will meet her in person. We talk to each other via emails and this is the first time I've heard her voice and yet I've felt I've known Liza for eons.
Wonderful all this technology! I love this Lollypop tree on the dark background. The colours are just popping out.
Looking forward to seeing your 4th block Gay & thanks again. Cheers, Kim McL

  11. Very interesting. I have seen where you take needle & thread and do a running stitch along the drawn lines on your applique piece, pull it out, and it supposedly leaves "memory" and the edges turn under easy and where they should. But that method did not have you basting it to the background.
