....is completed!
Ahh I'm in applique heaven with this quilt, I have just drawn out the tree onto freezer paper (yes, my next block will be the animal block at the bottom of the quilt), and check out all the glorious curves to be stitched!!!
It is so wonderful watching Kim's glorious patterns turning into very different quilts with the various and beautiful colour choices on display here on the GA blog. Thanks for the inspiration and eye candy everyone!

I agree! Love those bright colors and your work. And yet another beautiful background fabric. I need to get going on another block soon so appli-envy doesn't overtake me!
ReplyDeletethose 4 blocks together look amazing. Its going to be a fantastic quilt cathy.
ReplyDeleteThat tree really looks quite daunting to me!
ReplyDeleteStunning!!! I appreciate your fussy cutting, and just LOVE how your use of black makes each block POP just enough. ; ) Magical. Thanks for sharing and inspiring, Cathy!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are absolutely stunning but that tree would be the death of me lol.
ReplyDeleteyour blocks are so happy and just sing with color, I love how you used your fabrics in the bird, your background fabric is so soft and it really makes your fabrics pop.
ReplyDeleteI love love your applique - it's sooo pretty!

All I can say is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your background fabric. Could you tell me who makes it? Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone, I really appreciate your lovely comments.
ReplyDeleteLiz, the background is Kaffe Fassetts Roman Glass in the Pastel colourway. I am actually using the back of the fabric to tone it down a little. You can see it at Liza's shop here: http://www.gloriouscolor.com/store.php?cat=99

Your block is beautiful! Such pretty fussy cuts and fabric choices. It's fun to see all 4 together too.
ReplyDeleteThat tree looks fun! :)
Your blocks look fabulous, and great together too!
ReplyDeleteI am really loving your background fabric, Cathy. It is an inspired choice. I'm trying to work up the courage to take on that curvy bottom panel soon myself; you have an admirable "can do" attitude about it! But the reward for getting all those curves stitched down will be making all those lovely animals. I can hardly wait!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look great and I really like the background fabric. I think the 'trees' look a little intimadating for most people. I'm sure it will take awhile to hand sew. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteWow Cathy!!! Your blocks shine!
ReplyDeleteLove your fussy cutting!
Your Blocks are Gorgeous Cathy..you are Powering with these...
ReplyDeletecheers
Cathy, as usual, your blocks are looking extremely yummy. I'm glad you're going to enjoy doing the coral tree, I did. I like this type of tree, which is why it appears in my quilts.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing your panel Cathy! Kim McL
