I'm merrily quilting away on the Stars and Sprigs quilt. It's going to take awhile cause I stitch fairly slow. It was a hard decision deciding what to do so without a long winded story, I made the decision to please myself.
I tried out three different things for the center of the stars which all got unpicked before I settled on this. I'm too lazy to mark anything so it's all free motion on my domestic machine with a fair bit of in the ditch thrown in to control the puff.
I'm really loving the texture, the applique and stars have a lot of poofiness with the help of a wool batting. I'm using Superiors kimono silk thread in white. The combination makes for a softer quilt.
I'm pacing myself to avoid any aches and pains so it'll be awhile before I can show the finish.
Wow that is really just beautiful - you quilting and applique and beautiful!!

Janet love it such a wonderful job you have done very clever girl and it looks so snuggly too
ReplyDeleteJanet, in the end, you are the only one you have to please. I have to say though-your quilting is gorgeous! I like the motif in the star and your spirals are spot on.
ReplyDeleteJust love how you are machine quilting this...it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful quilting! I commend you for doing your own quilting on a domestic machine. I did it for years before I began longarm quilting and it is a feat to get it completed and look so well!
ReplyDeleteJanet,
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is great. I am loving it. I have been thinking about how to quilt mine. Every time I show my blocks, the viewer always asked me how I will quilt it. But still have all the borders to finish. Thanks for sharing about your batting and threads.
