RIGHT SIDE PANEL, ROSEVILLE ALBUM

Finally finished sewing on all the circles and now it's done. I have over 120 circles made so I'm ready for the left side panel as it has over 50 circles in it and there is plenty of circles to be added to the corner blocks and outer border. Actually at my small sewing group Thursday night 3 of the ladies didn't have anything to do, so guess what I had them doing for me ??? they manage to do over 75 circles, just the basting part, which helps tremendously and I truly appreciated. Thanks Mom (Deloris), Debby and Norma. Today I'm planning on cutting out the whole panel. I have already sewed on my squirrels and the cat but can't do anything else until I cut out more pieces. I put the circles on last as they work as a "fill in the area" pieces and easy to adjust placement.

  1. Very clever Julee--I need to find a group like that!
Your work is so imaginative and lively; that's strong background but your fabric choices work beautifully on it. I can't wait to see everything put together. Do you have blocks done yet?
Would you do everyone a favor and label all your posts with your name? That way we could see all your blocks and panels easily. I would love that!

  2. Great panel! You have some very cleverly cut birds on your panel. Especially love the one in the middle with the pretty fan tail and the one with the diamond pieces--they have just the right amount of spunk. I am envious of how quickly you are stitching all these blocks...wish I had some helpers for all these circles too--what a great idea to put them to work!

  3. Chefs have sous chefs to do the dirty work; quilters could make good use of those underlings too. Bravo for your quilt friends! Your panel is just so much fun. I can hardly wait to get to that one myself. I like your nest fabric and the nice balance of colors on this panel. Well done!

  5. Julee,
What a beautiful panel. I love the background circle fabric and all the circle fabrics throughout the panel. And I agree with the group - that bird in the middle right with the diamond fabrics just pulls the eye! Great choices.

  7. Julee,
I love the "tiger"striped cat and really like the way you used the diamonds for the wings and long tail feathers of that bird.

  10. Beautiful, Julee! And that is a great tip about doing the circles last because they're easier to adjust and place. We definitely need to come up with a term for the "sous quilters" or "staff" who are such a help to us or that we are to others!

  12. Well done Julee!! It looks absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful fussy cutting there. I use the circles to fill up the space and add more colour. Well done in getting the helpers to do the circles.
Look forward to seeing more! Kim McL
