This blog is dedicated to applique. Glorious applique!!! The focus here will be hand applique, but there is room for machine applique too. Kim McLean is the designer whose patterns and quilts we will be working on together. Are you ready?! Let's SEW!!!
Just love it! I think it looks beautifully complete. Your binding could include dots if you feel the need unless you already have a plan for that. Just curious....what are you using for the backing?
You know I would love to see the dots added too. I like both Elaine's idea of setting triangle dots or Sally's suggestion of a dotted binding (one of Kaffe's in a complementary colorway, perhaps).
Thank you Everyone! I decided to stick a fork in it and call it done! The borders are on, I hope to baste and cut binding tonight. Then it must wait a bit to be quilted as I have several projects to do!
The binding is a shell fabric that is in the quilt.. and the backing will be some mish mash of what I have left.. nobody will ever see the back as it is going to hang on the wall!
Pat, it's perfect! The only place I'd add dots would be on the outer edge inside the setting triangles.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so pretty!! I agree with Eileen about the dots.
ReplyDeleteOh Pat..it's so beautiful! I love the fabrics you chose and your work is exsquisite. You must be thrilled with how it turned out? :)

ReplyDeleteLooks great Pat (like we all knew it would)!

ReplyDeleteLooks great! The border you've done suits it and balances really nicely with it! How large did it end up being?
ReplyDeleteI love what you have done much more than the original. And the background colour makes it very special! Thanks for inspiring me!
