top lollipops DONE

Hi every one,

So, not only did I finish my top a while back, but yesterday I managed to sandwich it, ready to start the quilting in october or so when it's getting colder again. I prefer to quilt when it's cold and rainy. But for now spring finally got here.

As you can see I finished the outer border with rectangles instead of the 'required' squares. That's to give me some ease in quilting and to have enough under the binding. I like having a little extra in the last border, gives me something to cut off.

I like my quilt a whole lot but I am very pleased I didn't do the 16 blocks, since it is huge as it is.

To Jan, from 'bemused' : how is yours coming along on your red background?

See you, have a great summer in the north (or winter in the south),

border blocks

Hello everybody,

Nothing to report here, except the fact that I am still working on the borderblocks for my Lollipops.

The single block is one of the cornerblocks. They are all the same.

Before posting I counted the remainig blocks. 13 more to do! Now, that was a shock to discover!
My only excuse (besides a busy family life) is that I am quilting a quilt (now that it is still winter) and binding another one. I hate to bind. It takes forever (which I have prooven again).

First of the Lollipops.....

These are the start of my lollipop blocks. Love the pattern by Kim! Am using fabrics from Kaffe and Jane Sassaman. The backgrounds will be of various fabrics, like I usually do in my quilts.
The photo of the blocks are a bit washed out, but that's due to the photographer.....me!
Originally, I was going to only applique four blocks (they were to be picture framed), but because I'm enjoying the outcome of the blocks, I've decided to sew more blocks. Guess the quilt is taking on a life of it's own!
