" Pandemonium Quilt" - the house

This is the last panel, bottom right corner, 34" x 24". To the left is the pot panel flanked by 2 vertical rows of circle-in diamond blocks. The house panel was rather fun to do, with various animals in the yard.
The quilt on the whole was easier than the Roseville Album to sew. Time spent was on the drawings for me, but I loved the process. I think this is a great quilt to do, since most of us have fabrics that we can use in the stash cupboards already. I did enjoy the chance to use the shot cottons though, they were sooo pretty! Will do the full quilt soon, Kim McLean

  2. The house block is charming, but I particularly like that narrow potted plant! What a fun quilt...no boredom in putting this one together, I'm guessing.

  12. Thank you everyone, I'm trying to clean up the whole quilt photo, there are a lot of " grey carpet" around it & will post soon. Glad you've ordered the shot cottons Kerry, they are like gelato colours. Summer, the master copy has been sent to Liza at GloriousColor, she is working on it now, she and her staff are going through it with a fine tooth comb to make sure I haven't made any bloopers ( very easy to do). Cheers, Kim

  13. Hello Kim, I enjoy your quilting, wish I could follow a appliqué lesson from you! I'am not very good in it, but I try to do it better every day. Especially the little circles are very difficult for me!

  14. Kitty, I trim the seam allowance quite close to the sewing line, but I do this as I come to the spot I'm sewing. If you turn the seam as you go, it should be easier. Also, try not to use a polyester fabric, it will be very hard to turn the seam.Press the seam with your finger, usually the cotton fabric stays folded. With those "coral trees" you sweep in the seam allowance on the concave curves with the needle. I wish I could do applique lesson on the internet! Kim McL
