This blog is dedicated to applique. Glorious applique!!! The focus here will be hand applique, but there is room for machine applique too. Kim McLean is the designer whose patterns and quilts we will be working on together. Are you ready?! Let's SEW!!!
Paula, I realy like the top orange wing too. the movement in the fabric makes for a nice "wing" with feathers and it does not conflict with the tail stripes.
Between the bottom photo and the next two photos, I would say the purple-ish one with the colors more towards the tip of the wing. It will compete a bit more with the tail feathers but that is okay also. I have learned that with one of Kim's quilts, it's best not to second guess youself too much as once it is all finsihed everything flows anyway!
I really like the top wing in this post. I think you have found a winner!
ReplyDeleteLove the first one, it’s beautiful!

Hi Paula,
ReplyDeleteI think the top one is a better choice as the bottome one is a bit too greyed. To me the bottom one would be more like a butterfly wing design.
Enjoy the process you are doing a great job, but trust your gut as it will be your quilt!
