I belong to a hand piecing/applique list and they're discussing doing a BOM of various Baltimore Album quilts. One person posted this link:

She said it's Kim's version of the Mary Mannakee quilt from the DAR museum. I can't find any reference to it anywhere. I was told that Kim posted it in her blog but isn't this the only blog Kim posts on? Does she have another one?
I think the posting you are looking for was on Nov. 24, 2010. This page http://gloriousapplique.blogspot.com/2010/11/photo-of-mary-mannakee-quilt.html
ReplyDeleteI have made several of the Mary Manakee blocks and they are all really fun. If you end up making them, I think you'll really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI think this quilt was hanging in the Sydney Quilt show a few years ago , looks like this picture is from that show or maybe it was the Melbourne Show...
ReplyDeleteAfter I saw this quilt I was so inspired to make applique quilts with shirting backgrounds...
isn't it just beautifuL? I have quite a few of these blocks made someday it will be done..

Yes Eileen, that is my quilt based on the Mary Manakee quilt, I've changed 3 of the blocks though. It was rather fun to do. Kim McL
ReplyDeleteThanks to Kathie, Kim, Marisa and Donna. After I posted this, a friend pointed me in the right direction.
