Flower Garden block 8
After being absent for a while (I did read and oh-and-ah-ed) I am back with the eigth block of Flower Garden. This last month I followed a masterclass on doing applique as I wasn't satisfied about my work. I learned a lot and I am planning to go ahead full steam with Flower Garden!

I'd forgotten your dark background fabric. That's going to make the flowers really stand out beautifully in the finished quilt! Can you share with us anything you learned in your class? What method are you going to use for your applique now?
ReplyDeleteI love your appliqué on its black background. Will look forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteVery Dramatic! Like gorgeous corals and aquatic plants in a deep dark sea.
ReplyDeleteLove the fussy cutting Joke! What did you learn in the Masterclass applique class? Love to hear about it. Kim McL
ReplyDeleteOh well, I learned a lot! How to do sharp points, how to do perfect rounds (didn't practise that yet!). I learned how to prepare your block and fabric before starting the applique, so the fabric doesn't bleed (using Retayne). And I learned how to build the applique from top to bottom and do the whole piece before sewing it to the background.
