anyone with a quilt at the shows?

I think it is the quilt show season now or soon, anyone with a quilt at any of the shows?

Please please post a photo of your quilt and the place of the show?

LOVE to see it! Kim McLean

    1. Liza said it will be ready end of this week! I'm looking forward to see people starting with the quilt, it is easier than the Roseville! Kim

  2. My quilt isn't finished yet Kim, I plan to exhibit it when it is but our guild wants us to get permission to exhibit from the designer of a quilt, is that correct. I thought if you bought a pattern there was an "implied consent" for you to be able to exhibit it. Can you clarify?

    1. Pip, you can show them this entry! Of course you can enter any show with your quilt that you made using my pattern! I love to see people winning ribbons.
If you need more than this, email GloriousColor and Liza will email you consent. Kim

  3. Me again, it goes without saying that I will credit Kim as the designer of the quilt pattern on the quilt label.

  5. Yes, you can see my quilt 'The Bizzy Bird Farm" (Roseville Album)at Paducah this year. It has been in 3 shows and didn't win. One judge didn't like my curves, not smooth enough and one didn't like the binding. I did take off the binding and redo it so will see what happens. I did get several great comments on it. Competetion is hard as there are so many great quilts to compete against you. This is one of my favorite quilts that I have done, maybe it is because it was done in 'out of my box' fabrics and background. It is an 8 hour drive from Iowa to Paducah, KY for me. I have been going every year to this show missing only the 2nd year. I still have high hopes for this quilt!
I haven't done much blogging for the last several months as I work in a Tax office, so now I can get back to my quilting full time... Kim keep the patterns coming!

    1. Wonderful Julee! Hope your Bizzy Bird Farm does well at Paducah. I think it is a gorgeous quilt myself. I agree, competiton is hard but it is rather fun to enter though, I get quite a thrill knowing that it is hanging at the show and people are looking at your quilt and your fabric choices. I get my jollies knowing that people are entering their quilts in shows!
Keep up the stitching! Kim McL

  6. Hi Kim.....I was lucky enough to be in Melbourne last week while the Quilt Show was on, so of course I went. I have been away for more than a week, going before your entry to this blog. Someone had on show a completed Lollipops quilt, but I didn't take much notice of the makers name, nor the section it was in. I was drawn to it, because I am working on this quilt at the moment....only have one more block to do. Had I known of your inquiry I would have taken note of the makers name.

  7. Thank you Yvonne! Was it a good show? You'll have to take a photo of yours and post it on this blog. Love to see it, you'll have to enter yours when you're done! Kim

  8. I was at the AQC as well and saw that quilt, it was made by Jane Price (from the Northern Territory) and was in the Best of the Best section. The quilt won Predominantly Applique, Territory Quilts 2011. I took a couple of photos of it and could post them up on the Kim McLean Down Under blog.

  9. I forgot to add in my comment ...Jane's quilt was machine appliqued...not hand appliqued . I took a couple of photos also Pip, but I don't know how to post them on the computer. This is why there have been no photos of my progress on Lollipops. I need to buy a copy of Blogging for Dummies!...I'm
    not good with computers.
