Not a good photo, but these are the right and left side panels unpressed.
Thanks for the info re: trimming them to size.  I have two borders left to stitch.  I had started working on the border after completing the center squares rather than leaving all of them to the end.

  3. Hi Jennifer, One more question, did you use the back basting method of applique on the coral trees? I am working on my 1st block and I am
already worrying about those coral trees!!!

    1. Kim here, you seem to be a bit worried about those coral trees, I cut the seam allowance to about 1/8" or just over, then sweep it in with your needle, try the eye end of the needle. Don't fiddle too much or they'll be frayed. I think I covered this in the tutorial under the Pandemonium quilt, the link is above, on top of the panel, if you would like to check. I also baste the applique piece onto the background with a running stitch rather close to the sewing line, this seems to stabilize it. Let me know if you are still having problems, K

  4. Gorgeous Mary!! Love your panels, a good idea to do the panels whilst doing the centre blocks. The ccolours are popping out. Look forward to seeing the whole quilt, cheers, Kim
