Kim Mclean quilt

Hi all

Some of you are asking about the quilt top I had in my previous post.
The original is called " Sarah Evan's Applique Quilt 1806" and from memory Kim called her version " Old Bright"
The pattern is in the book " The Fabric of Society" by Dr. Annette Gero with patterns by Kim Mclean, I don't think it is available as a pattern only.

Hope this helps.

Christine

  1. The book is big and beautiful and very costly. You can order it from Material Obsession in Australia. There are several patterns done by Kim in the book. It is worth every penny.

  2. Yes, indeed, I ordered it from Threadbear when it first came out, and it is an amazing book. There are actually 30 patterns reproduced by Kim, and the book comes with a computer disc and extra packet of paper templates. The book IS pricy, but it's the postage that kills you! Still, I'm very pleased with the purchase. Michele

  4. As i lived to far to do the Sarah Evans quilt i rang up the the Quilt Shop that Kim was teaching at and purchased the pattern for the Roebuck quilt and Sarah Evans but I don't know if Kim still does this as it was back in 2004-2005.

  5. Good morning. Try http://www.bookdepository.co.uk they offer free shipping worldwide and have this book in stock now. I agree, lovely book from which I have reproduced one quilt (from the photograph because the pattern had been simplified too much for my liking).

  8. I have the book and love it, fabulous to read about the history of these Aussie quilts. Such a bonus to have some of the quilts made into patterns by Kim McLean too.

  9. Yes I too have the book and love it and as everyone said it is big and heavy.
Hope no one minds that I have tempted some of you with this quilt, but it would have to be my favourite quilt I am working on.

    cheers
