Scandinavian appliquers

Hi Everyone,

I'm so excited to find this blogsite : http://danishapplique.blogspot.com/
Perhaps a sister blog to Glorious Applique? These ladies are just starting their applique journey, they've been picking up lots of interesting ideas from GA.
I don't speak Danish or any of the Scandinavian languages, so if you are conversant in these, perhaps you'd like post/ comment? For the rest of us, we can always look at the photos!

  1. I've already added the blog to our sidebar. Since our blog is full, any Scandinavian quilters doing the patterns could join in on the new blog. When I go there, I get a google translate bar on the top of the page but they have also added a translator so we can read what lovely things they're posting about.

  2. Thank you for the link! I've used the translate button so now I can read the posts in English which is much easier for me.

  9. Thanks, Kim, for bringing this blog to our attention. I love that we can be globally connected through your wonderful quilts. I speak no Scandinavian languages but loved visiting both Norway and Denmark. I will be checking in for the pictures at least.

  10. Janet, we are honoured that we are now officially a sister site to GA and that you have added us to the sidebar. We are just beginning to take the first steps into the wonderful world of Kim's patterns. We have learned a lot from watching this blog and hope we will grow with the task. Must admit that it seems like a big challenge to tackle as advanced applique patterns like those, but I hope we will learn on the way. I'm currently trying out different applique tecniques to try to figure out what to use. I'm planning on doing the Lollipop Trees. Of all Kim's patterns this was my first love. Years before Kim made this pattern I fell in love with the antique quilt that inspired her.

  11. I use gmail and just remembered/discovered a good use for that Google "translate" button! It automatically translates the Danish site into English!! Has anyone else used that? Now not only can I view the pictures but I can read the blog in English.
