joining in.....

hello

my name is Christine and I've been accepted to this blog

I have wanted to make the "Hearts and Flowers"quilt since I picked up Quilt Romance

just lately, my husband, (also a quilter) has expressed an interest in other Kim McLean patterns.  Not sure if he wants to make one, or is just enabling me

was wondering if there was a site anywhere that showed pictures of ALL Kaffe Fassett fabrics?

the stash is meager but I'm not sure just what "bits" I have...and I would like to keep as much to the listed fabrics as I can

hope to post again soon wit a progress picture

Ok I'm ready for it

Hi my name is Adele and Im a Lurker

I wasn't going to start the Roseville quilt i was going to wait to see what the Kim Mclean Flower Basket quilt pattern would be like and then toss up between which one i liked the most, but seen as the Australian Dollar is good in America at the moment i decided to buy the Roseville kit, pattern and background fabric although the postage to Australia will be quiet expensive (around the $100.00) mark but the Roseville quilt is just too hard to resist.

Im looking forward to starting this quilt as if i need another one but it will be a nice change from the reproduction style applique quilts i love making.

Roseville block 5

One more block done!
I sure have enjoyed all the recent posts.
Everyone is doing such a fantastic job with their applique and fabric choices.
Since I've discovered Kim's pattern and Kaffe's fabrics I don't really want to work on my other projects, just this one. Its so new and refreshing to work with these bright fabrics, and to get out of my 'BOX'.
Will post soon

first block

Hi, I've been following this blog for a couple of months now and wanted to share my first block. It is the block on the bottom. I bought the RA pattern but am using my large collection of Kaffe Fassett fabrics and others. I am pleased with how it turned out. The block on the top is my second one and I have only selected the fabrics and placed them. I may fine tune things as I go along. I am enjoying this blog very much and find seeing others work very inspiring. Keep up the good work! Nedra Weaver

Just a corner of the panel

Choosing the fabric is usually my favorite part of the whole quilting process but I have to say I'm not thrilled with "my" fabric choices for the squirrel panel of RA. I keep plugging along but I definitely think putting these bright colors together take a talent I haven't developed yet.
I have a lot of Amy Butler solids that I am inserting here and there. I think the solid leaf needs some embroidered veins.

I'm glad that I can see the choices everyone else is making so I can learn.

Flower Pots

This is my first time to show some of my applique on this blog. I do needle-turn applique by hand, using freezer paper on the right side of the fabric for my pattern pieces. These are my first two blocks of Flower Pots by Kim McLean. I did order the kit but also have quite a nice stash of Kaffe fabrics so I have used many of the same fabrics as Kim.
The applique goes so easily as the pattern pieces are large and easy curves, yet show off the beautiful fabrics. Thanks, Kim, for wonderful designs! I love viewing everyone's fabric choices for these patterns.

Block one started - Lollipop Tree.

Hello...I thought I should put up my first block still in progress of Lollipop Tree...I am using mainly Tanya Whelan Fabrics from her Hatbox Collection..it's much softer than most people are using ....I will incorporate some other fabrics into it maybe just a little more brighter but I don't want to take away the effect of the Shabby Chic fabrics either.....I am Enjoying seeing everyone's blocks and there are some Beautiful Fussy Cutting going on...it really can make a difference to the blocks ..especially in the Roseville Album that some are doing.....
Thanks for stopping by.

I Have Started

I have had my pattern and fabric for several weeks and then stalled...hand or machine applique. I like to do both. Finally, after weighing several time factors and current hand applique projects I decided to do my Roseville Album with machine applique. I like to use a blanket stitch to applique and I already had threads to match most of the beautiful Kaffe Fassett fabrics. So I started in the middle of the quilt with the fruit compote block. I didn't vary too much on fabric choices from the pattern, but I will get braver with these bright fun fabrics as I go. I have enjoyed every bodies posts and have learned a lot from this blog.
Happy Stitching,
Cheri
