Two seasons have come and gone since my last post, but I have been working away at Roseville along with some other projects. You can see I still have two gaps before the center section will be finished, but everything else is done except the borders. it gave me an unexpected thrill to see these blocks again on the design wall.
Here are close ups of some of the blocks so you can see the fabric choices a little better. I hope some of them illustrate Kim's tutorial on finding just the right bits for leaves and vases.
A few months hence, perhaps I will have time to begin some of the Pandemonium blocks. I LOVE the new pattern and am already wearing it out with study.
Your blocks are very beautiful. Great job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks, absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTerrific Marion, your fabric choices are exactly what I was trying to tell in the tutorials. The Radiation fabric you've used for the centre flower in the last block illustrates that perfectly as the others in the 3 earlier blocks. Beautiful Marion! Kim McL
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are beautiful, your fabrics make them sparkle.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are just stunning beautiful work
ReplyDeletekeep up the good work. This quilt should have been name Perservering in Roseville. You have to stay after it, it certainly isn't a quick project, especially if you make other quilts along. I love this quilt, it gives a quilter such an opportunity for creativity, there are so many wonderful fabrics out there you can choose from. Your's is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate the encouraging comments, especially since this project is a long haul. It's the most ambitious project I have ever attempted, but every fabric choice and every stitch has been such a pleasure.
ReplyDeleteAnd Kim, that radiation flower in the bottom block is pieced! I hadn't tried it before, but I wanted to effect some veins in the flower. I expect we haven't even begun to see all the possibilities for special effects by piecing "kaleidoscope" style.
Gorgeous blocks. I especially love the pineapple and grapes. Wonderful fabric choices!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! Keep at it a stitch at a time!
ReplyDeleteThe finished quilt will be well worth it!
Take care, Leslie

ReplyDeleteI just adore your blocks. YOu have really learned how to make the fabric work for you!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing, you have inspired me to get my roseville blocks out again, thanks!

Marion, your blocks are a prize! Your use of color and fabric is well neigh masterful. I LOVE your pops of black/dark in each block, it makes all the other colors in each block just sing! United, they are a symphony. ; ) AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteMarion your blocks are divine. They really sing. I adore the colours you have used. xo
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are spectacular Marion! Each fabric choice is perfect..and masterful. Piecing the fabrics was brilliant. I love the effect you were able to get. Well done! I'm looking forward to seeing what's next..and cheering you on. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Gorgeous blocks! Your fussy cuts are incredible, and I love the way they look together! You might have inspired me to get back to work on mine! :)
ReplyDeleteMarion, love, love, love your blocks! You have done a masterful job with the fabrics. I have been reluctant to start the fruit bowl, but your fabric choices make it easier for me to picture how I might do mine--can't wait to see how you continue with your quilt!
