I have been busy appliqueing and enjoying working with all of the brighter fabrics.
Getting ready to start another panel.
I needleturn applique and use my needle to turn under the fabric. I don't finger press or baste the turn under, my needle does the work. I do trace some of my templates using my light table
and also use the light table for placement which I pin in place. Don't use glue.
When I do use a template I trace around it with a white gel pen using my sandpaper board.
Kim, love My Garden especially the pink bird bath fountain.

When I started RA I thought that this block would be my least favorite. But, when I see the beautiful job you and others have created, I'm looking forward to doing it more and more. I love the fabric you chose for the bowl.
ReplyDeleteYou are sure getting these done quickly despite both being time consuming blocks (at least for me!) I like how your bottom bowl almost glows. Which fabric did you use for the main pink/red flowers on the top bowl--they look great and the fabric is familiar, but I can't place it?
ReplyDeleteDenise, your fabric selections are outstanding! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks have that rich look of Autumn colors on a cloudy day. The colors just glow?
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! :)
Gorgeous blocks. That mottled grey background is beautiful and makes the colours sing. xo
ReplyDeleteDenise your basket fabrics just SPARKLE! I get they are even better in person... FABULOUS job!
ReplyDeleteWow!! I love your blocks! Your background choice brings the colours in the fabrics to life!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! :)
Beautiful! Love your background choice and all the fussy cutting. Doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteDonna, the two fussy cut red flowers with purple centers are from Flower Show by Benartex.
ReplyDeleteDenise both your blocks are just specatular!! the quilt will be absolutely stunning..the tempation is getting nearer and nearer...ahhhhh!!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours Denise, they're popping out. Your fussy cutting is really great! You seem to have gotten through the cactus flower basket with flying colours. This was the last block I did, I nearly threw this one out and thought of replacing it. So far though, I've seen some gorgeous cactus pot blocks, so I'm glad I didn't.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying the Garden. Someone has already started on this quilt, Going to see it next. Kim McL
I love your choice of flower pot fabrics.
ReplyDeleteBoth the basket fabrics are especially striking. Denise, will you please put your name as a Label on your posts so it's easy for us to see all your blocks at once? They are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love your colors, fussy cutting, and your background fabric. Your flowers are just blooming and singing. I cannot wait to see some of your blocks together.
ReplyDeleteWow...these take my breath away...just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou have fantastic applique skills and a real talent for putting the fabrics together. I loved seeing it on the gray.
ReplyDeleteI too happen to think the mottled grey background you chose is brilliant! It makes the applique fabrics positively glow. ; ) The colors are intense. Your fussy cutting is spot on. And your blocks just radiate.
