2nd Flower Pots Panel
I finished my 2nd Flower Pots panel this weekend. The first panel took about 3 weeks, but this one took a little longer because I also managed to hand-quilt a baby quilt for my new nephew. Naturally I enjoyed every minute of applique.
Here they are together. I've cut out the Star block so I'll have handwork to take on vacation on Saturday. Does anyone know a good quilt shop in San Diego? I can always use a couple more pieces of fabric, right?

Rosie's Calico Quilt Cupboard in San Diego is wonderful. They have a huge selection and ship. Also, if you like primitives, you can't beat Country Loft in nearby La Mesa.
ReplyDeleteI've just come back from San Diego and I agree with both of the comments above. Rosies is like an Aladdin's cave of fabric and Country Loft has the good old fashioned quilt shop feel to it. I think there is a shop hop in San Diego this month as well, so there is plenty of information on other shops in the area at the first 2 mentioned. I like the striped stems on that background. They look great together.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous Leland. I love your background and the stripey bias. Fabulous xo
ReplyDeleteFabulous Leland!! Well done, love all the colours. yep, we can all do with more fabrics...Kim McLean
ReplyDeleteWhat stood up for me was the great colour of the background. It works so well.
ReplyDeleteI echo Cathy and Celia above that background sure makes the colours sing!
ReplyDeleteTerrific Leland, your panels are looking very exhuberant and playful and I just love that background colour.
ReplyDeletei absolutely LOVE that you are using a stripe for the stems! and your background color makes everything sing ... can't wait to watch further progress - keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Lee. I love the way the shaded ombre stripe works in the flowers. I keep thinking we have the same fabrics, but we don't! These two panels really complement each other so well; the vases look good together. Well done, good friend!
ReplyDeleteThese are so neat! I love your background color.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Leland! Your two panels look fabulous together too. Such a wonderful use of the fabrics. :)
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful. Love the striped stems. Have a good trip.

ReplyDeleteYour fabric choices are beautiful and that is an amazing background color that you chose. I'm amazed it every time I check the blog, I want to hurry and finish my lollipops so I can work on another quilt.
