I just received an invitation to join Glorious Applique blogspot. Quite an honor I must say. Thank you Janet. I think I have looked at every pix and your appliques are amazing. I have the pattern and fabric so I just need to start. Only hope I can live up to your appliques.

Hello Jeanette..welcome!
ReplyDeleteWhich pattern will you be doing?
Hi Ann, Thank you for the kind welcome. I'm will be doing Roseville Album. I was going to machine applique, but think for me hand will be easier. (All things being relative. LOL)
ReplyDeleteWhich one/ones are you working on and/or finished? All tips for starting are welcome and appreciated.)
I think the Roseville will be better suited to hand applique IMHO?
ReplyDeleteI've done Princess Feather, and currently I'm working on Roseville. I'll be starting the borders soon. :)
With Rosevilel I started with the fruit bowl center then went to the left, then up, and across and down like a big spiral. I found choosing the fabrics for each block easier if I had my other blocks handy so I could see the colors for an even spread around the top.
You're going to have fun! :)
Welcome aboard....there is so much to learn from this blog site.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanette and welcome! I have made Kim's Flower Pots and used it to teach hand applique locally. I think it is well suited to a beginning project and a bit less intimidating than Roseville Album. But, quite honestly, ALL of Kim's designs are wonderful, fun and full of energy. Keep us posted and thank you for sharing your journey with us. ; )
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanette, so glad you're joining us with the Roseville. It's really fun to do and you can go to town with the all your fabrics, the more the merrier. Love to see your first block. Kim McL
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanette, welcome aboard, we'd all love to see your applique when you get organised.
