Here is the questionable vase and flower. Which should be replaced or both? The striped fabric is a coarser fab so was a poor choice to do the reverse applique.
I checked the fab that I had made the fruit compote, but only had the salvage without the info on it, so I do not know the name.

  1. I would change the vase into a vibrant deep red/orange and stick with the flower which is a nice blue.

  2. Maria has a good idea. The vertical vase stripes don't work well, do they? A more horizontal fabric orientation might be more successful.

  3. Definitely change the vase. Flower is great.
I agree, go with Maria's idea.

  4. Odd man out. I like the vertical stripes for the vase. Perhaps a bright fabric for the reverse applique though...HOT red, orange or pink...?! Just my two cents. ; )

  5. I really like the vase, I would not change at all, it is really striking. Maybe you just need to keep adding the flowers, bring in some more of the colors of the vase and finish your beautiful block.

  6. Cut out all the other elements Mary, and see if it will all go together. Trust your own instinct! cheers, Kim McL
