Princess Feather.

I've been working on my Princess Feather block for quite a while and have finally finished it!
Have already started the next one.
I ordered the pattern and fabric kit for the Roseville Album quilt, I've been holding out for ages , resisting as long as possible.   But I couldn't wait any longer.  However, I will try and finish this quilt before I start the Roseville.  I do love reading about everyone else's voyage and love looking at your photos as you go.

  3. Isn't it amazing what Brights do for a design. Oh to live long enough to do all these wonderful quilts.

  5. VERY pretty block! I love the bright fabrics you've used. The borders are real fun to do with those birds in it.
When I made that quilt I changed the way the pattern says to do the borders. Just a head's up..if you want to avoid the squares in the corners. :)

  6. Another person who loves yellow! This "feather" is just so cheery. I used to think the traditional Princess Feather in red and green was a goal to aim for, but Kim's version is so much more playful.

  7. Beautiful Kerry!! Love it. This block is stunning and looking very happy. Makes you smile doesn't it. See Ann Champion's blog for the borders. The pattern says to do a square in the corners instead of mitre, if you prefer to do mitre corners, cut longer but it does use slightly more fabric. This was our 2nd pattern pack and we were learning the ropes. We thought people would prefer to buy less background fabric but now we're doing the borders as being mitred if there is a choice.
You know you can start cutting up the pieces for the RA whilst you're cutting for the PF. If you get those freezer paper templates ready and bagged, you're on your way. You'll be going through the same fabrics anyway ( if you're doing RA in Kaffes) so why not do it now. Just a thought. Kim McL

  8. It's perfect and I love the fabric choices. No harm in cutting out some pieces for RA, I tell myself that a lot. It's called getting organised with a head start, lol.
