Three months into it, and

I want to give a BIG thank you to everyone who has been participating in this blog!!!  : )  THANK YOU - for your interest, for your support and for the shout outs you've given Glorious Applique on your personal blogs.  It is truly appreciated.

I have to admit how surprised, overwhelmed and delighted I am with the enthusiasm and buzz this little blog has caused.  I think the subject matter, Kim McLean's designs, has something to do with that...!?!?!?  And, having direct communication with Kim, Liza and others has been a real boon!!!

The caliber, experience, excitement and encouragement shared here continues to amaze me.  I marvel at your posts, your photos, your progress, your knowledge, and your kindness.  It is an honor to have each one of you participating in this blog and sharing your journey.

I must confess that it has been a challenge for me to keep up!  Presently, my life is undergoing major changes.  Nothing bad.  But, my "free" time is quite limited.  I do hope you can be patient with me?  If I haven't answered a question regarding a post, or how to post, or why there are spaces where they weren't or shouldn't be, etc., it is simply because I can not.  I do try to issue an invitation as quickly as I am able.  I appreciate and understand how important it is to encourage and not frustrate.  I too have been on the waiting end, and it's hard when you're SEW excited!!!  As the only administrator for this blog, sometimes there is a wait for my response.  I do apologize.

Meanwhile, there are a few outstanding GA blog invitations that have not yet been accepted, and we are nearing our author capacity.  If your name is missing from the list of contributors, please advise me.  If you have a personal blog that you would like added alongside your name, let me know.  If anyone is wizard enough to create a Glorious Applique widget that can be shared, I'd LOVE to hear from you.  Regarding labels and having ones work grouped together, I don't know how to do that nor the time to figure it out presently.  Contributors are not listed alphabetically.  Instead, they are listed in the order they joined - original first, newest last.

I appreciate your time and allowing me to do a bit of housekeeping.  Thanks.  Now, go SEW!  ; )

Piecefully, Pam

  8. Pam, I cant thank you enough for coming up with the idea of this blog. I love being a participant. Just seeing what other quilt makers are doing, reminds me to get back to sewing my Lolly blocks. I hope all the chaos in your life resolves soon and you can get back to sewing and sharing with us, your stitches.

  10. Starting this blog was a stroke of pure genius, Pam, and we owe it all to you! Little by little I have stopped looking at any other blogs except for now and then. My friend Lee even made GA the opening page on her computer! GA is a feast for the eyes, a never ending source of tips so generously shared, and an eye opener to the many ways to interpret Kim's patterns.

Take your time to do what you need to do. We will be here when you can get to us.

  12. Thank you Pam! Setting up a blog where we can share tips and ideas and gain inspiration was a wonderful idea. It's so nice to have this resource.
I think we're all very forgiving of any posts where the pics or the text don't show up where the poster thought they would? The important part is the sharing.
I hope things settle down for you a bit going forward. We want to see what you're up to, too! :)

  18. Just as all the rest of the posts say... this is a fabulous blog with all the hints, suggestions, answers to questions, and yes, all the fabulous colors. Very inspiring to see how all the colors are going together to make awe-inspiring quilts. Even though I thought I would never be interested in Kaffe Fasset fabrics, they are wonderful in these quilts.. so Pam, do what you need to do and just check in on us as you can cause we are all still going to be here posting and working.

  20. I can't imagine anymore what life was like before you had this genius idea. It is true that having Liza and Kim on board adds too. I also follow other blogs hardly anymore, because I am always excited to continue sewing when i read this GA blog. It somehow makes me feel less alone with my passion.
And things will get done one day or another. We are patient, as long as we can sew and follow each others progress.

Thank you also to Kim and Liza for the time and expertise they have invested into this wonderful blog. xo
