Slow and steady, I guess.

Sometimes seeing everyone's beautiful progress makes me feel like I'm in a race. I get anxious and want to hurry hurry hurry.

But, I have to remind myself that the journey is as important as the destination.

This is my progress on the left border of the Roseville Allbum quilt. I am still learning about color placement and it is a lot of fun.........
Now, back to working on a previous project.
(I know I'll fall off the wagon again and sew more on this - ha!)

  1. I'm working on this panel too (despite not finishing my top that needs to be done). I am struggling with getting the birds to look right individually, yet to still look right with the other things nearby, and not be all the same colors. I like your bird's swirly eye and your squirrel's ears--very nice fabric usage!

  4. I know exactly what you mean when you say you feel like being in a race. I have the same thing happening. I think it has something to do with a fear this blog would end otherwise maybe, and I don't want that to happen either.

  5. oh no don't ever feel like that its not a race at all.
we all can work on the blocks at our own pace...this week for me will be all about some machine piecing so my next block will be put on hold for a bit.
please enjoy the process thats what quilting is all about

  7. Great squirrel! Not a race here. We all have different "life responsibilities", some more, some less.

  8. What a handsome bird, he looks as if he's telling the squirrel something he shouldn't be doing!!
I'm enjoying looking at what everyone is doing that I haven't done any applique..

  10. I second Janet's comments! That chocolate-y squirrel is FUN! : ) And, the bird IS quite magnificent!!!

Enjoy your applique process and journey, Robin. Do not race through it. We all need to stitch at the speed of our own life. More time or less, fast or slow. It's an individual experience being shared by many.
