This blog is dedicated to applique. Glorious applique!!! The focus here will be hand applique, but there is room for machine applique too. Kim McLean is the designer whose patterns and quilts we will be working on together. Are you ready?! Let's SEW!!!
The block is wonderful, Ann! Is it the choice of the brown fabric you're not sure about? Because I think that balances the color choices really well. I like it! And I agree that the vase is spectacular.
Thank you all for your encouragement. The fabric with the roses is Phillip Jacob's Floral Burst-red. It took a half yard cut to get two full roses. I had another fabric that was about 1/2" shy of letting me get a rose that was a little bit darker.
your fabric choices are wonderful, not only do your flowers but your vase looks absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to see what you do with your next block.
Ann, you're a marvel, the roses look fantastic!!And love the vase fabric, when I was doing my quilt, my daughter asked me why I've drawn an alien spaceship for a vase! Actually there is a vase in an 1800's Baltimore quilt that is the inspiration for it! The original looks a lot more " refined"! Kim McL
