Ann's Block #6
Block #6 finished.
I had this block done last night, (or a different block 6, really) but wasn't happy with some of the fabric choices, especially when I pinned it up on the design wall and saw it with the others.
I looked at it again this morning and it wasn't better in the light of day.
I said I wasn't going to make changes to blocks right away, but see how they sit with the other blocks first.
I broke that rule and redid it a bit. ;)
I like it better. I think the center flower was a bit too dark before, and the upper flower centers were too close to the same?

I think you did a good job to by changing the center flower, it look much brighter this way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely block, it is a bit of a party to look at it.
Love the New Block with the Lighter Flower...
ReplyDeletecheers.
Wow Ann, you are getting heaps done. It is beautiful, I would love to see them all together. xo
ReplyDeleteI like the change you made! It is beautiful and the center flower just glows now!
ReplyDeleteI like both versions of this block, Ann. But, it is all about what makes YOUR heart sing!!! ; ) You are a stitching MACHINE!!! Which block are you working on now...?!
ReplyDeleteAnn, it is looking fantabulous! I do like the lighter version, but both are lovely! Your fussy cutting also adds to the appeal. At this rate, you'll be finished before Christmas! Love to see what you're doing next. Cheers, Kim McL
ReplyDeleteAnn, really like your new block with the changes.
ReplyDeleteI am finding this quilt addicting and all of the great support and encouragement is wonderful
Thank you so much for the positive feedback. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm working on the block that has the open work basket container..except I placed a piece of fabric behind the strips for a bit more color in the block. Fun!
Wow you are really working fast! I am still on my second block!
ReplyDeleteLove the lighter version of the flower! it brightens all of the other colors too.
ReplyDeleteI think I do prefer the second block, but, hey!, please do not be so judgemental. Your blocks are looking wonderful together - looking at the six blocks together makes me certain a nine block quilt would be a wonderful wall hanging! Great encouragement to us all, thanks Ann!
ReplyDeleteHugs - Lurline♥
I love both blocks, choose whichever pleases you best. They both work for me.
ReplyDeleteShirley.
Another beautiful block--either way! I like the change you made though!
ReplyDeletego go go!! you a steam rolling through this quilt!
ReplyDeleteVery, very pretty - I like them both.
ReplyDeleteAnn, your blocks blocks are gorgeous and you are truly amazing!! (and I could be a tad bit jealous of all you're getting done)
ReplyDeleteYou're an inspiration to me!
