This blog is dedicated to applique. Glorious applique!!! The focus here will be hand applique, but there is room for machine applique too. Kim McLean is the designer whose patterns and quilts we will be working on together. Are you ready?! Let's SEW!!!
Love the yellow & pink fabric near the top--I've thought about buying that one, and now you've convinced me! Your fussy cutting is really lovely--your red flowers are too cute and the leaves are great!
wow great block, oh that flower petal and center pink and yellow fabrics are just perfect looks like your the queen of fussy cutting nice to have a nice selection of fabrics to chose from I bet! Kathie
The fabric is a dark chocolate brown Aboriginal Dot. I rarely use white or black, staying away from extremes. If I were to start over, I would likely keep the contrast closer between the applique and background. A taupe background or dull bronze would be interesting.
Looks fantabulous Liza, you are the queen of fussy cutting - you're making great use of your vast stash!! The fabrics do pop out and I love it. I wish my eyes are better, I can't sew on dark backgrounds. I like the dark background and big contrast. Having done one low contrast quilt I don't think I'll go down that path again! Kim McL
I love that background. It really makes the colors pop!
ReplyDeleteI love it! The two giant leaves look awesome, getting closer to the end, kep sewing.
ReplyDeleteI am very pleased with the giant leaves. That fabric is from the Liberty Art group.
